I really like Marc Maron and this book is a pleasant and funny read However if you ve watched his IFC show Maron or seen his comedy special Thinky Pain you re already very familiar with the content. Great cover sleeve and the hard cover is very minimalistic and looks great on a shelf Bought as present for my SO and she enjoyed it a lot as a fan of Maron. Really funny and reads very quickly because of no bull t writing style Feels like a real person wrote it and because of that you feel like you are reading a very real story. He has a really insightful and lyrical way of describing the truisms in life I was genuinely surprised and impressed by how well he crafts his words. I m a big fan of Maron, his stand up, his podcast, his TV show and just the man himself.Attempting Normal is a good read but if you re already over familiar with his work then there s not much new here The material itself is solid but it s much better when delivered by Maron directly.
