!!> BOOKS ✺ Let the Old Dreams Die ✰ Author John Ajvide Lindqvist – Tactical-player.co.uk
I m a huge fan of horror books but this just doesn t cut it for me The stories have either been dull or have ended with me wondering what actually happened and not in a good way Not a single compelling character throughout and I m sad to say this is the first book I ve ever given up on halfway through Paper Walls I lost the will to read any. The Follow Up Collection To The International Vampire Bestseller Let The Right One In Includes The Short StoryBorder, Now A Major Film Whatever Happened To Oskar And Eli And What Became Of The Beleaguered Families In Handling The Undead Find Out In Let The Old Dreams Die In Other Tales From This Collection, A Woman Finds A Dead Body And Decides To Keep It For Herself, A Customs Officer Has A Mysterious Gift That Enables Her To See What Others Hide, And A Man Believes He Knows How To Deceive Death These Are The Stories Of John Ajvide Lindqvist S Rich Imagination They Are About Love And Death, And What We Do When The Two Collide And The Monsters Emerge If you are looking for a book of short stories which are pitch black in tone, unsettling and thought provoking then you need look no further.I have devoured every book by this Author and I would put them in the top of the quality horror section of my imaginary library The stories in this book are completely gripping I didn t want to put my Kindle down If you love the horror genre or are John Lindqvist afficianados then you will love this as much as I did.A five star read Enjoyed these superb, unsettling short stories than any book I have read in a long time Very pleased with this purchase. Does an ancillary love story to let the right one in which clears up any misconceptions you might have on that story.Finishes off his walking dead story in a way which.if it had been included in the original novel, would have made it a five star story for me.Then has a bunch of independent Chillers which show what a great writer he is.Great stuff. This makes an interesting read as it s a collection that explores some of the characters from the authors other books The chapters are varied in length focussing on different stories including some original plotlines besides his other material characters Would recommend if you have bought other works of this author. This is a wonderful collection, especially for fans of Let The Right One In and Handling The Undead The first story, Border , is worth the purchase of the book alone Powerful, elegiac and starkly written, this collection is testament to Lindqvist s talent for short fiction that commands attention Unmissable. This is another quality product from Lindqvist Two stories seek to tidy up loose ends from his previous books Handling the Undead and Let the Right One In By further developing the themes from those books he has really added to the mythos around them. The stories vary greatly in length, complexity and abstraction, but all are really well written in his very defineable style The modern incarnation of the troll is just superb and really plays to one of Lindvist s strengths, turning preconceptions on their head and really making you sit back and take stock of your previous assumptions.A really excellent collection on the whole, although there were a coiuple of weaker tales.
