I Believe in Unicorns Very nice book for kids Was very disappointed to find this was a screen play rather than a book I also could not understand why claimed to have 60 plus pages in this book and yet the kindle app had significantly less Perhaps I missed something but disappointing for a summer holiday read none the less. A moving story about unity and inspiration in the face of destruction, by the Children s Laureate and author of the internationally acclaimed War Horse Tomas hates school, hates books and hates stories Forced to visit the library, he stops to listen to magical tales that the Unicorn Lady spins These tales draw him in and are about to change the course of his life for ever Set against the backdrop of war torn Europe, I Believe in Unicorns explores the power of stories to transform lives Fab book to encourage young readers My child devoured this book in a day Great read As always a lovely story, eloquently told. Enjoyable easy read I like it I just wished it was longer once I d finished reading it Ah well, gorgeous stuff as it it and doesn t distract from its original beauty Wonderful book The view of the war affected world through an eight year old boy is fabulous Heart touching narrative and adorable diction A good read for young achievers Now about the quality of the book Mediocre paper quality but clear print. Bought for my 11 year old unicorn loving daughter It s beautifully written and illustrated She read mostly independently and got through the book quickly It s a lovely story and good for tempting reluctant readers Why don t they illustrate adult books too Read with my daughter, did t enjoy it Subject not right for her Maybe 10 years up would be better Hard to know with books as guidance is often hard to find on age suitability.
