You Can't Take An Elephant On the Bus Kindle â You

You Can't Take An Elephant On the Bus You can t take an elephanton the busIt would simply cause a terrible fussElephants bottoms are heavy and fatand would certainly squash the seatsquite flat Never put a camel in a sailing boat, or a tiger on a train, and don t even THINK about asking a whale to ride a bike This riotous picture book is filled with animals causing total disaster as they try to travel in the most unsuitable vehicles A real romp of a book, with hilarious rhyming text and spectacular illustrations

This book is about than just the elephant taking a ride on a bus, lots of zoo animals are included and each has its own two pages with a four line rhyme.Preschool age kids will love all these animals, but I think the snazzy illustrations stop it looking to babyish so the book will appeal to younger primary school kids too My kids laugh at the animals expressions. We have this for a long time now My kids are currently four and six and they ask for it fairly regularly, I also think this is the kind of book that will grow with us.

Purchased this for my sons 4th birthday, as he loves buses and I thought the concept would make him laugh unfortunately, he only gave one weak chuckle towards the end However, I personally thought the rhymes were lovely and the illustrations perfectly matched the text Would still recommend

I read this in school in small groups of infants as part of their phonological awareness assessment work they loved it, repeating the lines as I read saying oh this is going to be a funny bit They liked looking for details in the pictures We used gestures actions to emphasise understand the words They wanted to explain why the animals couldn t use their transport what the problems were It has been requested for tomorrow It s one of my favourite books along with Diary of a wombat Who s in the loo.

Liked the illustrations Some of the language chosen was difficult for very young children to understand and was obviously chosen to help the book rhyme Bought the book Oi Frog at the same time as an alternative rhyming book and the children and I MUCH preferred the latter.

I find it really boring to read to be honest but my 4 year old son likes it The illustrations are quite dull and the story is a bit strange But he likes it and that s what matters not his favourite book but he does ask for it sometimes I just always suggest he reads it when he s with nanny

Bought for a 3year old This was a new book to me, but I will be buying it as a present for other young children Good rhyme, funny, a degree of predictability with the verse, and amusing somewhat retro styled illustrations I would buy for 3 5 year olds.

This was another book for our younger grandson To be honest, I think it may be kept for his birthday 18th September so I can t say whether it was a successful purchase or not.
