I have read most of Cathy Kelly s books and enjoyed them It is difficult to say why I didn t really enjoy this particular book It tells the story of three women, Ginger, Sam and Callie and as the title says it was a year when every changed for all of them Maybe it was because we had a chapter about each of them so I never got into the stories I still recommend Cathy Kelly but this book just wasn t for me.

I started reading The year that changed everything, and I loved it straight away The three main characters Callie, Sam and Ginger became like friends to me, I cried, and also laughed with these characters It just shows you never know what is going on in other people s lives and how they put on a mask to show everything is ok when it s really not I m so pleased the characters got to meet up and became such good friends It would be lovely to see this book mad

Three women with ten years age difference 30 40 50 share birth dates, so begins a year of life changing events for the three of them.Three different stories with their own chapters, meeting at the final chapters to bring the three women together.Heart warming enjoyable book showing how they rise above these events to be strong and happy women.

This book is what it is, I found it all a bit too predictable and the ending too neat but I don t like to be too critical as I knew to expect this I think the three stories are too separate and when they do meet up it turns into a pantomime But it is easy reading.

This was a great storyline, revolving around three strong women, all of whom overcame great setbacks in their lives. It wasn t obvious how their lives would link up until much later in the story The family story lines for each character were also good and, as always with this author, you felt like you really knew the characters.Thank you for another great read
