Step-by-Step Drawing People: 1 (Step-by-Step Drawing Book) Paul Cezanne urged other artists to treat nature by means of the cylinder, the sphere, the cone So, this lovely little book translates the basic principles of drawing used by great figurative artists from the renaissance masters to the Disney animators to begin by reducing figures to very basic shapes into child friendly terms. The book might look simple but it actually lays down basic principles of drawing principles that are taught in adult life drawing classes beginning with basic shapes and then gradually refining, in a way that children will find enormous fun, not to mention the buzz they will get from producing such great drawings, the book makes success so accessible. It provides a great start for very young artists and thoroughly recommend it I think Usborne step by step drawing series are the best drawing books for kids. The illustrations and instructions are very easy to follow. The style of illustrations are lovely They re modern child friendly. My 8 5 year old really enjoy drawing colouring in they sit for hours drawing learning new illustration techniques with these books They have have the complete series now LOVE it Within a few minutes my 7 year old, who has quite horrible handwriting was producing pictures that looked interesting and convincing, way better than his poor pen control would suggest he could manage Of course he can t create his own characters yet but copying the ones they provide will help him figure out a language for representing people.I had a tiny worry that this sort of direction would stifle his natural creativity I think if your child is doing great experiments with drawing already then leave them to figure out their own style and find their own solutions But for us, we were seeing something like pencil phobia, so this was a big win.You can expand it by inventing stories for the characters and in our case writing them down which I confess was our real goal to work on his handwriting Really though, I think Usborne is the most wonderful publisher Every book I ve ever bought from them I ve loved. Both my 6 year old and my 4 year old have enjoyed this book Amazing to see what they have been able to produce with a bit of guidance This will give their drawing a boost, which will hopefully set them in good stead for years to come The drawing attached is by my 6 year old. As a parent of a 6 year old who always wants to draw or colour but having no artistic talent of my own I have ended up keeping this book for myself and practice doodling while in boring conferences calls. Bought 1 each for an 8 year old and a 10 year old who don t draw much as they say they can t draw well Both love the easy step by step build up and are having fun while improving their drawing skills Clear steps and lots of room to practice the drawings. My 7 year old daughter loves this look we got her for her birthday It s great at breaking down drawing into manageable steps.Highly recommend. Un libro 100% recomendable Si quieres que los peque os de la casa aprendan a dibujar figuras sencillas de manera muy intuitiva, este es tu libro Children love to draw people and faces and they can create satisfying results every time with this clear, easy to follow, step by step drawing book This write in book includes instructions, hints and tips, as well as space to practice Good
