The Fox and the StarWaterstones Book of the YearFrom an award winning designer comes an original fable about need and loss Once there was a Fox who lived in a deep, dense forest For as long as Fox could remember, his only friend had been Star, who lit the forest paths each night But then one night Star was not there, and Fox had to face the forest all aloneThe Fox and the Star is a work of prose and design, each page thoughtfully created by Coralie Bickford Smith Bought as a birthday gift for my neice As others have said, it is just a beautiful artifact the sort of thing you would generally only buy as a gift solved that what to get dilemma One of my better decisions. This is a really beautiful book The cover is fabric bound in a dark blue colour with silvery embossed pattern It is lovely to hold The illustrations are gorgeous and the story is wonderful I just love this book and have bought copies for friends children and have my own copy by my bed One of my very favourite books. One of the most beautiful and serene books I ve come across My kids age 5 and 7 LOVE it, and so do i The story is thoughtful and the illustrations are so clever and gorgeous. Beautifully illustrated book Great story, which could be read at different levels by child or adult Quite delightful, really This was bought as a present for someone I think I m going to buy one for myself. Beautiful, beautiful edition of a lovely little book An absolute must and joy for lovers of foxes, words and beautiful, imaginative illustrations You get really lost in the fox s world through the way the words and illustrations interweave and work together Shame there s no 6th star to give Beautifully illustrated book Bought the hardback version for my 3yo nephew, my sister loved it IMO opinion the story was a bit dull but I have no idea what would appeal to a 3yo Lovely book for a nursery book case and makes a great gift I recommend getting the hardback version for a quality feel to complement the illustrations. This story is woven tightly and eloquently in a poetic way that is still accessible and comprehend able to both the parent and young child That is feat in and of itself It carries a beautiful macrocosmic message in a microcosmic modern world with so much superficiality The tangled and thick woodland, starry sky, and bold burning orange fox illustrations leave you yearning for the magic of being with nature this is a favourite for my one year old daughter and I, it s a perfect and concisely written, well rounded book I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a book of longevity and substance that can stand the tests if time with its meaning, artistry, and boldness. A beautiful book, I bought it originally for a friend who s partner had died and then I bought it as a gift for myself It s just such a beautiful book and the other night I read the whole thing over the phone to a dear friend who was grieving for her husband and feeling inconsolable It feels like a special and beautiful book to have beside me Thank you L ho comprato in inglese dacch costava un po meno di quello in italiano La copertina bellissima l illustrazione minimalista e per pattern, accurata La storia come ogni storia di animali commovente Un piccolo gioiello
