A long awaited sequel to Paul s previous books Derelict London and London s lost rivers excellent reads The series of books could run to many as there are still undiscovered areas of the capital that await The new book is as informative as the others which came before it Each picture contains a brief history of the subject Makes you want to learn about each one Divided into sections so the reader can compare sites Paul does tours of London on a regular basis and the book s act as a perfect companion to them. Can t wait for the next one.

This is an excellent book book by Paul Talling illustrating many features of London s past I have been on two of his walks as well, which have included sites in the book, and found them so interesting Paul has an in depth knowledge of the significance of each location and is able to place that information in the wider historical and social context I am very interested in social and geographical history and even found that one of his walks passes locations connected with my family history.I would highly recommend Derelict London.

Interesting but not I think as fascinating as its companion work Lost Rivers of London Still, the photos are compelling and thought provoking If a bit sad Its too bad of these buildings haven t been restored and kept.
