I really enjoy autobiographies, especially those of the highest performing sportsmen, sportswomen and their respective coaches After recently finishing Paul O Connell s great read and Clive Woodward s equally good I was really looking forward to my Christmas pressie from the wife the enigma that is Eddie Jones This is a biography, which effectively means a cut and paste from historic newspaper cutttngs, newsreels, pre post match interviews and other autobiographies A book of quotes with little insight into the man apart from he is little probably the only insight you gain It gets two stars for the reminiscent trips through memory lane Marseille v s Aussies was a weekend we talk about even now but nothing from the man himself about what makes him tick what is his life influences, his hopes, fears and aspirations Basically, capitalising on another man s life history Personally, I would wait until he gets round to writing his own autobiography himself That would be a good read.

If you re looking for a detailed historical account of Eddie Jones this is the book for you Well researched, poorly written Far too much detail in stuff not many would be interested in and lacking in insight into the mercurial taken that is Eddie Jones There s interesting stuff in the book but you have to wade through lots of detail that could have been summarised.
