The book started with promise The writing is easy to read But I gave up after 57% I cared little for Lolly who had a drab, shifty personality During her time in London, nothing much seemed to happen On other occasions, there was so much irrelevant detail and I wondered why I gave up reading this book I simply couldn t waste any time on something that put me to s

This is my second Roberta Kray novel and I enjoyed every page Immediately I found an unexpected tenderness in the lead character, despite the hard life she led Lolly s strength of character drew me in from the start and kept me with her up to the conclusion A book I shall remember for a long time Needless to say I ll be reading work from this remarkable author.
