Multiphysics Modeling Using COMSOL??4 by Roger W. Pryor (2012-01-24) Unfortunately I can not agree with the other reviewer about this book in the least bit This book is no than a pile of screenshots.I should first say that Comsol is an amazing tool for what it can do and that it comes with lots of tutorial and industrial models that are very well annotated This book develops very little beyond the help that comes with the product. If you are looking for a book that integrates some numerical methods through Comsol I would consider the Zimmerman book, it is well written and worth the price. The real power of Comsol is its open format to allow customization and development of highly integrated system models Comsol can be driven from Matlab, and that opens the door to really get something done With a tagline of A First Principles Approach I had some high hopes for some meaniful discussion of physics, mathematical methods and the synergy that Comsol can provide the prospective modeler Sadly it delivers on none of that. Aimed at the advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate level student this book brings a rather advanced approach to the use of COMSOL It is presumed that the reader has a basic understanding of what he wants out of the software As such it doesn t start, as most software books do, with simple tasks such as installation, description of the workspace, etc.Chapter 1 gives some basic introductory examples of single dimension heat flow as part of an introduction to modeling methodology.Chapter 2 discusses sources of materials properties databases.Chapters 4 to 7 discuss 2D modelling at various levels.Chapter 8 is on 3D modelling.Chapter 9 discusses perfectly matched layer models. Finally Chapter 10 is on Bioheat Models where killing tumors inside the body with laser and microwave heat sources. Finally the book includes executable copies of each model and related animations on the accompanying DVD. This book was not helpful It is useful only to the very basic beginner with Comosol and adds little beyond the tutorials available on the web. I absolutely agree with Jeff s review For me this long expected book advertized at COMSOL Conference was nothing but disappointment The author does not bother to explain anything You are supposed just keep clicking without understanding what you are doing and why One typical example Page 221, Summary for 2D Hall effect model says Chapter 4 have introduced new concepts , weak constraints, Curious about weak constraints Look at page 176, where they were introduced Click the Weak Constr tab Verify that the Use weak constraints check box is checked That s all you can get about weak constrains Still curious Look at Index Weak Constrains pp 176, 221 You cannot learn much from this book. Popular E Book, Multiphysics Modeling Using COMSOL 4 By Roger W Pryor 2012 01 24 By This Is Very Good And Becomes The Main Topic To Read, The Readers Are Very Takjup And Always Take Inspiration From The Contents Of The Book Multiphysics Modeling Using COMSOL 4 By Roger W Pryor 2012 01 24 , Essay By Is Now On Our Website And You Can Download It By Register What Are You Waiting For Please Read And Make A Refission For You
