Author Sibeal Pounder is best known for her, Witch Wars, series, which my ten year old daughter loves and so she was keen to try this new book by her There are 34 chapters, approx 250 pages and several black and white illustrations, which make this really appealing for children approximately 8 11 years.Mermaids have lived on this planet for a long, long time and yet they have remained undiscovered, in the Hidden Lagoon However, as young mermaids seem to spend countless time complaining that they want to have legs, the Queen of the Lagoon, has put into a summer initiative in place so young mermaids can experience a summer with legs However, only two weeks into their experience on dry land, friends Beattie Shelton and twins Mimi and Zelda Swish, are recalled home There are BAD MERMAIDS on the loose and their help is required immediately With fun articles from the Mermaids newspaper, Clamzine, we follow the adventures of the three friends as they return home and try to find out what is going on This is a very modern, original story, which will appeal to all mermaid lovers It is fun, with a well created world and, best of all, there will be a second book in the series.
